The Toxin to Treasure Art Tour is the first of many ways in which we are demonstrating our desire to heal artfully. Here we are creating art pieces with materials that represent poisons to our children.
Toxin to Treasure begins touring the country in summer 2008. I am profoundly grateful to all of the BEDROK Community Moms and families for their support and help with this project.

It’s hard to believe that so many modern conveniences like microwave ovens, packaged foods, cell phones, plastics, nonstick cookware and prescription and non-prescription medication are responsible for the decline of our collective health. It’s hard to believe that a child can bite into a piece of bread and suddenly be swept away into a state of non-responsiveness, confusion, tantrums, skin rashes and discomfort.
Many children with autism and allergies are drastically affected by chemical food additives, polluted air and water, and electromagnetic fields.
But, what’s more? Many of them cannot even eat what the general public would consider to be food. Our children’s bodies are rejecting wheat, milk, soy, corn and even fruit because their inner-ecosystems have been destroyed — while we have been simultaneously filling our garbage dumps with toxic waste and genetically modifying commodity crops for the sake of cash.
We are changing things. We are recovering our bodies and clearing our minds. Our children are breaking through as a result of non-toxic living. All over the world autism is being cured naturally through diets that recognize the need for proper detoxification and focus on healing the gut.
Let’s take it a step further. Spread the word of recovery by creating art pieces that reflect your unique journey to healthier living.
The first round of projects should be complete and ready to show by June 1, 2008. All artwork will be on display at various galleries throughout the United States; and then donated to schools, galleries and other child-friendly zones. We are grateful to you for sharing your talents and time in honor of these truly amazing children.

· Detox our homes. · Beautify our world. · Spread the word of natural autism recovery. Details · Use materials that are otherwise known as toxic (or have been toxic to your own family) like Teflon pans, prescription med bottles, plastics, electronics, microwaves, batteries, GM food labels, (and anything that represents the degeneration of our inner ecology and the foundation for autism and allergies) and turn it into beautiful artwork that people will enjoy.
· Use only the toxic items which are in our own homes or have been donated for use in this project. This symbolizes detoxification of our homes. · Use Non-toxic items (whenever possible) to bind together or decorate the toxic items (example: paint with non toxic paint or recycle newspaper to make papier mache). · Work on the project with members of your family; include
· Collages are a very simple way to create beautiful artwork. You can create a collage by taking the “toxic” items and attaching them to a canvas, piece of wood, Styrofoam etc. You can still use paint, paper, crayons, clay etc. All contributions are greatly appreciated.
· With 1 in every 150 children affected by autism – chances are you know someone who has it. Let them inspire you. Invite them to create with you.
