About

Gina Laverde McDermott and Shannon Ruhe

We are Two Certified Organic Mommies Joining Forces to Help You Recover Your Children from Autism.

We believe that autism can be undone by addressing your child’s unique form of toxic build-up and nutrient deficiencies, and peeling away each layer of damage gradually.

Recovery becomes reality when we embrace nature’s healing tools and empower ourselves to understand our own and our children’s bodies.

Separately, we are a teacher and a writer/researcher. But together we are super moms who’ve got super kids on the road to full autism recovery and perfect health. We got picky eaters to crave spirulina, and the non-verbal to ask questions and spontaneously give answers.

All of our children are amazing Removing the autism mask really allows them to flourish.

We wish to help your babies thrive as ours have, and so we share our journeys, our research and our support with you.

Heal Artfully offers family counseling online and in Houston and Chicago. We coach adults and children on diet, nutrition and detox. We hold classes that focus on sensory learning. We assist with homeschooling. And, we do it all for the children.

We are also affiliated with the BEDROK community who use the Body Ecology Diet and other natural therapies to recover children from autism.

If you’ve recently received the autism diagnosis, and need someone to guide you though this challenge, please contact us — We are here for you!!!

  1. Hi Gina,
I read your moving letters to Jenny McCarthy and Amanda Peet because they were posted on the Holistic Moms Network’s E-mail Loop, the Online Connection. I thought you might be interested in knowing about HMN’s 5th annual Natural Living Conference, taking place on Saturday, October 18, 2008 in Mahwah, NJ. One of our keynote speakers is Barbara Loe Fisher, President of the National Vaccine Information Center. For more information, please visit http://www.holisticmoms.org or call (877) HOL-MOMS. Thanks!!

    Hi Gina,

You might know me from working with ‘The Raw Divas’. And rawmom.com

I have been writing a book with Stephani McGirr since March of 2008. We are hoping to be done by Jan. 2009, we’ll see what happens, as it’s a big under-taking. Any way the book is on Raising Healthy Children. I’ve changed the name due to Tera’s influence, and last night I had an epiphany! The new name for the book, only I have to run it by Stephani first. Anyway why am I telling you this.
    1. I thought you were the Gina that was going to be contributing to the book. So I clicked on your name on one of the comments you made at rawmom.com . Got your site & well your not the Gina I was thinking about, but wow I love what your doing. I think I came to your sight for a reason.
    2. Because we had a few people that were going to give there small story for the book, have not sent anything in and one is gone on vacation.
    3. I was wondering if you would be interested in telling your story in our book? And if Shannon would as well?

If you are interested let me know and I will send you the details.

We will be making a DVD to go with the book as well.

If your not interested no worries as we are still moving ahead to get it finished for the new year.

    Lots of Love
    Monique

  4. Hi there!

I am a food blogger, I read about ur experience (http://welikeitraw.disqus.com/jason_mraz_his_avocado_farm_chocomole_and_his_new_single/#comment-797250) in an avocado farm in California. Was thinking of visiting there and wanted to stay and write up my experiences in my food blog.(http://putri-berendam.blogspot.com) Is there anyway, I can get the address or contact details of the owners? Thanks.

Hi Putri, thanks for writing. The folks who live on the farm are not “farmers” they are merely friends of mine who enjoy living amongst avocados. They don’t do tours or demos of anything like that. It was simply a great place to stay and meditate and be with my best friends. but there are many places like that near there. In Encinitas California there is a great meditative vibe, veggiie restaurants and even a meditation center. You may look in that area to see if there are farms that offer visits — I figure there must be some since avocados, strawberries and many other things grown so wonderfully in the area.

best of louck on your food endeavors — sounds fun!

      Gina
